Horse Program Questionnaire

 

 All Children enrolling in a horse program must fill this form out and return with their application and deposit.

 

1.        Which style of riding do you prefer (please circle one)?

(Parents: please help children with this form, consult your riding instructor, a knowledgeable horse person or call the trainer office)

________ level 1.  Rider has taken less than five riding lessons.  Horseback riding  recommendation: Beginner, private lessons

 

________ level 2.  Rider is able to independently lead horse, walk, halt and trots.  Rider is starting to canter with assistance. Horseback- program recommendation: Beginner, private lessons

________ level 3.  Rider is able to walk and trot independently and is familiar with diagonals and canters.  Horseback- program recommendation: Horseback-program recommendation: Beginner, private or semi/private lesson

________ level 4.  Rider is able to walk, trot and canter independently, knows diagonals and is familiar with leads.  Horseback- program recommendationAdvanced, private Lessons

________level 5. Rider is able to walk, trot, canter and knows leads.  Rider can do simple lead changes.  Rider is able to perform simple arena exercises.  If rider is jumping they can complete a course of small jumps.   Rider feels comfortable on short trail rides. Horseback- program recommendation: Advanced private to semi private

 

_______level 6.  Rider is comfortable at all gaits on the flat.  Rider is able to complete more advanced arena exercises.  If rider is jumping they can perform over a set of 8-10 jumps at 2’6”.  Rider is comfortable riding outside of the ring on a “huntfield and trail.”

If any of the above questions have been answered in the negative, the horse is not appropriate to come to camp. We  reserve the right to deny or dismiss any horse deemed unsafe.   Any damage will be charged toward the horse owner
